Hilsa Curry
 Fish recipes are very popular all over the world. Fish is found everywhere in the world. There are a lot of protein in the fishes. Hilsa curry is one of the delicious recipes in the sub continent. Fish recipes are very fond of the people of Bangladesh. Fish recipes are very nutritious as well. Hilsa is the national fish of Bangladesh. Many types of recipes can be prepared by hilsa fish. The cooking process is as follows;
Ingredients:
450 gm(1 lb) hilsa steaks,
¼ cup chopped onion,
1 teaspoon ground turmeric,
½ teaspoon chilli powder,
1 teaspoon ground coriander,
2 green chillies,
¼ cup cooking oil,
Salt to taste.
Cooking Process:
1.      Combine the ground spices, mix in ½ cup of water.
2.      Heat the oil and sauté the onion. Add the mixture of spices, stir and cook for 2 minutes. Add 3 cups of water, salt and the fish. Cover, bring to boil and simmer till water has been reduced.
3.      Add the chilies 8 minutes before removing from heat. This curry may be prepared with other fishes like mackerel, herring etc.
Serve with fluffy boiled rice. 4 - 6 servings.
