Radish and Shrimp Bhaji
Radish is a winter based vegetable. Radish grows in plenty during the winter season in Bangladesh. We like shrimp and rice. Radish and shrimp bhaji is a common recipe in Bangladesh. Shrimp and rice is a familiar recipe for the people of Bangladesh. Most of the people like radish and shrimp bhaji with shrimp and rice. It is very easy to cook this recipe. Ingredients:
2 cups peeled and shredded radish,
2 tablespoons chopped onion,
¼ teaspoon ground turmeric,
4 pared green chillies (optional),
¼ cup shelled peas,
2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves,
¼ cup shelled shrimp,
¼ cup cooking oil,
Salt to taste.

Preparation:
1.      In a frying pan, heat the oil. Fry onion light brown, add the shrimps, stir and fry for 3 minutes.
2.      Take out the shrimps straining the oil. In the remaining oil, add rest of the ingredients except the coriander, cover and cook over a moderate heat. Stir occasionally.
3.      When radish is cooked, add the shrimps and coriander leaves, stir and remove from heat.

Serve hot with fluffy boiled rice or chapatti. Yields 4 – 5 servings.
