Aloo Bonda / Potato Bonda

Potato (Aloo) is one kind of vegetable. Aloo Bonda is a common recipe in Asia. Most of the people of Asia are fond of Aloo Bonda recipe. Coconut in Tulu Language is called as Bonda Or Thaarai. Bonda is a typical South Indian snack. Aloo Bonda recipe has various sweet and spicy versions of it at different regions. The process of making a spicy bonda involves deep-frying potato (or other vegetables) filling dipped in gram flour batter. Aloo Bonda has a sweet and a spicy variant. Potato is available not only in Bangladesh but also all over the world. So Potato recipe has a great demand. In Bangladesh, most of the people can easily make this Aloo Bonda. It is a tasty recipe. Some ingredients are essential to make this recipe. The preparation of Aloo Bonda recipe is as follows;

Ingredients:
* 2 cups mashed potatoes
* 1 cup gram flour
* 1/2 cup chopped onion
* 1 chopped green chilli
* 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
* 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
* 3 tablespoon vegetable oil
Salt to taste

Method of preparation:
1. Mix mashed potatoes, onions, green chilli, 1/4 teaspoon chili powder and salt.
2. Make small balls of mixture. Mix gram flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
3. Add enough water to make a thick batter heat oil in a deep frying pan/kadhai on high.(Oil should be enough so that all the balls dip well in oil)
4. Reduce the heat. Coat each ball with enough batter and then deep fry till light brown.
Condiments serve with cilantro or mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
