Palwal with
Coconut
(Bhuna Narikel Patal)
Palwal with coconut is a delicious recipe. It is considered as sweet recipes. We like sweet recipes. It is tasty as well. But palwal with coconut is one kind of vegetable recipe. Palwal is found in all the countries in Asia. It is green in color. The preparation of this recipe is given below;
Ingredients:
1 kg (2 lb)
palwals,
1 teaspoon
chilli powder,
1 teaspoon
ground coriander,
½ teaspoon
ginger paste,
½ teaspoon
garlic paste,
1
tablespoon ground mustard,
½ cup
cooking oil,
1 bay leaf,
6 green
chillies,
1 cup
grated coconut,
Salt to
taste.
Preparation:

Wash and peel the palwals, pare lengthwise and remove
the seeds. Cut each into four pieces. Mix all the ground spices with little
water to make a paste. Grind the grated coconut finely to make paste.

In a frying pan heat the oil. Put in the palwals and
bay leaf. Fry over very low heat. When water has drawn out from the vegetables
and evaporated add the paste spices. Fry for a few minutes keeping the burner
very low.

Add salt, green chilies and coconut and fry stirring
occasionally. Keep over a very low heat for about one hour. Stir from time to
time to prevent scorching.
Serve hot with bread. Makes 6 servings.
